Open kitchen in the hills

Oakland, CA

A place for multiple generations to gather.

AFTER PLAN.jpg

Open and efficient space

The original kitchen was a tight galley. We opened both sides and re-engineered part of the house to accomodate a free flowing plan from breakfast nook to living room with two generous peninsulas to provide enough space for friends, grandchildren and a grumpy cat to gather, cook and feast.

The space is augmented by a rich color palette of black granite, a custom Fireclay glass tile pattern and bookmatched white oak from Crystal Cabinets that amplifies the home’s context nestled in the forest with views of the bay.
